Application:

Potable Water

Keywords:

Alabama, potable, ground storage mixing, circulation, stagnation, breakpoint chlorination

Reservoir Size:

This is a ground storage potable tank with a capacity of 0.750 MG.

SolarBee Installation:

Date: 8/6/2009 Installed one SB1250PWcv18 unit.

Project Objectives:

Objective: Chlorinated System: Provide complete mixing throughout the tank or reservoir to (1) provide a complete circulation of a full tank or reservoir in less than two days and (2) reduce stagnant water conditions. Also, by complete mixing, allow for representative sampling for total chlorine monitoring and provide the means via the fast response early boost (FREB) fluid intake assembly to inject sodium hypochlorite for boosting chlorine residual or breakpoint chlorination.

Project Results:

These units have had a very positive impact on our water quality by greatly reducing/eliminating temperature stratification, improved mixing of disinfection additions, and reduced water age. At the time of this publication on 9/26/2009 this installation is very new.
